Legacy Girls U12
This season the Legacy Girls U12 expect to continue to build upon last year's success and have a great time.
The 4S Ranch Soccer’s Legacy program was developed for U9 through U14 players with advanced soccer skills. Recognizing the need to offer a competitive-based program for higher caliber players, and to help develop players for high school and college competition, 4SRYSA is providing a program that will provide a higher level of training from more experienced coaches and a higher level of competition for those involved. Players participating in this program will compete in the CalSouth Presidio League playing against teams from other local club’s during a season lasting from September to December. These teams may also choose to participate in tournaments during the summer and winter as agreed upon by the team members.
The 4S Legacy teams require more travel and commitment, so it may not be right for everyone. This program was designed for serious soccer players and their families and may not be appropriate for strong athletes who compete in many sports. Our recreational program still provides many opportunities for competitive soccer with fewer demands for time and travel. The cost is considerably less than full competitive clubs. Fees are set to cover the costs of each team, uniforms, registration, tournament fees, referee fees, possibly professional training fees, and other incidental costs. Although the coaches are volunteers, they are required to be fully licensed with CalSouth. The league is currently exploring involvement of professional soccer coaches and training in our Legacy program targeted for the Fall 2009 season.
While many Legacy Team games will be played within the area (North San Diego County), some games or tournaments will be played outside the area. There also may be occasional Sunday games or double-headers.
Potential players must try-out and be selected to play on a 4S Legacy Team. The final decision will be made by the coach and additional 4SRYSA representatives. The decision is based on soccer skill level, attitude, and player position. The teams will be primarily made up of 4S Ranch Soccer Association members, but may include players from outside the area, if needed to complete a roster or to assure competitiveness.
The 4S Ranch Legacy program can provide a team for each age level unlike recreational soccer where two ages are combined in a division. For example, 4SRYSA recreational programs combine ten-year-old players and eleven-year-old players in the Under 12 age group. The 4S Ranch Legacy program can provide a team for Under 11 and a separate team for Under 12. Teams will be formed based on interest from players, parents, and qualified coaches being identified. These teams will be coached by volunteer coaches, in most cases, and can include professional trainers or coaches for additional fees.
If the 4S Ranch Legacy program sounds like the right program for your player and family, watch our calendar for try-out information. Try-outs are generally held in the spring and these teams stay together for one full year.
